Game description:

Doors The Foundation is a first-person exploration horror game where players progress by passing through a sequence of mysterious doors. Each room introduces a new setting, layout, and threat. The environment constantly shifts—dark hallways, decaying offices, and abandoned underground structures create a disorienting space. The objective is to survive long enough to reach the next door without being caught by entities that appear throughout the map. Some doors lead forward, others to danger or loops, and players must learn through trial and error.

Gameplay and Threat Design

Movement is slow and deliberate, emphasizing tension rather than speed. Players interact with objects, search for clues, and solve small environmental puzzles to unlock certain doors. The enemies, known only as anomalies, behave unpredictably. Some hunt based on sound, while others rely on sight or scripted patterns. There are limited safe zones, and no weapons are available. This creates a playstyle based on observation and stealth. The farther the player advances, the more unstable the environment becomes—lights flicker, walls shift, and sounds distort.

Visuals and Progression System

Doors The Foundation uses low-saturation lighting, static-heavy filters, and minimal HUD elements to create an oppressive atmosphere. Visual storytelling is used instead of dialogue, with hidden symbols and recorded messages giving hints about the world and its hidden rules. Progress is saved after passing key checkpoints, allowing players to experiment without starting over entirely. The unpredictable design of each room, combined with hidden mechanics, encourages multiple playthroughs.
