Game description:

Meteor 60 Seconds! is a short side-scrolling action game about the final minute before Earth is destroyed by a meteor. The story begins after NASA announces that a massive meteorite will hit the planet in exactly 60 seconds. The player then controls a man who can spend that final minute however they want. There is no long campaign or traditional character progression. Instead, each run is built around choosing what to do before the countdown reaches zero.

Sixty Seconds to Do Anything

Once the countdown starts, the player can move through the environment and interact with people and objects. Some actions are harmless, while others can be violent, illegal, or simply strange. The player can help people, attack them, kiss characters, interact with animals, plant an apple tree, or ignore everything and wait for the meteor. The short timer means only a limited number of actions can be completed during one attempt.

The main gameplay includes:

  •         moving through a side-scrolling environment;
  •         interacting with people and objects;
  •         choosing how to spend the final minute;
  •         completing unusual actions before time runs out;
  •         trying different decisions in later runs;
  •         unlocking different endings;
  •         watching the result after the meteor arrives.

Your Actions Decide the Ending

Meteor 60 Seconds! does not use conventional levels. A run lasts about one minute, and the sequence of actions taken during that time determines the outcome. The game has multiple endings, so repeating it and behaving differently is the main form of progression. One run may focus on helping people, while another can involve aggressive or unusual choices. The ending reflects what the player managed to do before the timer expired.

Replaying the Final Minute

The controls and objectives are intentionally simple. The player moves from left to right, approaches characters or objects, and uses available interactions while keeping track of the remaining time. Because the full scenario is short, the game is designed around repeated attempts rather than a single long playthrough.

The main goal is not to stop the meteor. Earth is expected to be destroyed regardless of what the player does. Instead, the game asks what the character chooses to do when only 60 seconds remain. Discovering the different possible endings and trying actions that were missed in previous runs make up most of the available content.
